I extend a hearty welcome to the visitors at Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University (SASU). The University started its operations from the academic year 2020. The University is currently functioning from Dibrugarh University Campus located in the city of Dibrugarh and eventually will move into its 200-bigha campus in Chabua (District: Dibrugarh) where construction is planned to begin shortly.

I feel it an honour and a rare privilege to be the founder Vice-Chancellor of this University and assure the stakeholders that this University shall soon become the model sports University of the Country known for excellence of its teaching, research and innovation. To make our university top tiered and to be able to attract inquisitive minds requires us to build modern infrastructure, have renowned faculty and conduct good governance. Our effort would be to ensure that the university is able to attract, retain and nurture the students and fulfil the dreams of the stakeholders.

One of the main objectives of any sports university is to create knowledge in the area of sports and physical education and disseminate it to the peer community, improving performance of athletes and make our society physically active. In order to achieve these objectives, our university will have world class research facilities which will in turn attract global researchers.

We are committed to provide the best of faculty, facilities, sports infrastructures, practical training to the students in the field of their choice. Our approach of imparting knowledge would be student centric and focus would be on learning rather than teaching. We encourage the Upanishadic traditions of questioning which encourage students to ask questions and as a result nurture minds which are inquisitive which itself is an asset for any society. Opportunities for nurturing creativity, talent and developing entrepreneurial skills in different areas of sports and physical education will be amongst our top priorities.

Punctuality, time management and hard work will be the major key to your success in your university life. Since students are the major stakeholders hence, we would like to involve them in the decision-making process and their views would be encouraged for the early development of the university. We assure you that all the faculty and administration shall do their best to fulfil your aspirations, be it carrier or otherwise.
