About Dr. Pankaj Pandey is a Professor of Physical Education and Head of the Department of Sports Journalism at Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University, Dibrugarh, Assam. He has extensive academic, coaching, research, administrative and sports-management experience spanning more than two decades. He holds a Ph.D. in Physical Education and has extensive academic qualifications, including M.Phil, M.P.Ed, B.P.Ed, and additional qualifications in Journalism and commerce. He is a certified NCA BCCI Level "A" Cricket Coach and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Coaching from LNIPE, Gwalior.
He has been actively involved in academic quality assurance, research committees, curriculum development, accreditation activities, examination administration and student research support.
Dr. Pandey has significant experience in organizing and coordinating national and international academic and sporting events. He has contributed to the organization of conferences, seminars, inter-university competitions and sports meets, and has served in technical and organizing roles for sports including Cricket, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Softball, Athletics, Football, Tennis, Kho-Kho and Chess.
A prolific researcher, Dr. Pandey has published 25 Research Paper in Peer Reviewed/ Scopus index/ UGC Care Journals , 10 Chapters and published 05 Books in the field of Sports Sciences. His research focuses on practical and evidence-based approaches to improving athletic performance.
A notable achievement in his innovation and research journey is the Government of India patent/design registration for “Athlete Psychological Wellness and Performance Assessment Device” in 2026, reflecting his interest in integrating sports science, psychology and technology for athlete assessment and performance enhancement.
